Gujarat Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Narendra Modi on Sunday hailed AIADMK's victory in the Tamil Nadu Assembly polls, saying that the party's win "will influence national politics in the fight against corruption".

"The great victory has a significance and is not limited to Tamil Nadu," he told reporters, congratulating the people of Tamil Nadu.

Asked if he believed that AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa will make Tamil Nadu a developed state like Gujarat in the coming years, Modi said, "I have seen her dedication to Tamil Nadu, commitment for the development of Tamil Nadu. So, I am sure she will contribute to a great extent."

Modi, who is here to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the new government under Jayalalithaa, also said he would call on actor Rajinikant, who is admitted to a private hospital here for a recurrent respiratory infection and gastrointestinal problems.
