Immamuddin Shah, son of Bollywood actors Naseeruddin and Ratna Pathak Shah, suffered head and limb injuries after falling from a local train at a suburban train on Thursday morning.
At around 8.50 am Immauddin was on his way to St Xavier's College in South Mumbai when he fell off between Mahalakshmi and Mumbai Central stations. The railway police reached the spot and found him injured on the tracks.
They took him to the Nair Hospital, where they were told that he had fractures in his limbs. The police inserted the sim card of his broken mobile phone in another phone and contacted the contact name—mom and dad. That is when they found out that the injured is the son of the actor.
Shortly afterwards the actor arrived at the hospital and after completing the paper formality his parents shifted him to the Hinduja Hospital. He is presently recovering in the ICU after a minor surgery.
According to Immamuddin's family members he is responding well to the treatment and will be fine soon.
Imamuddin's sister, Heeba spoke to HT when she was on his way to the hospital, "Currently he is in the ICU and is out of danger. There is nothing to worry about; we will be given information about his health only the next morning," said Heeba.
When contacted later Heeba and Immauddin's family had switched off the mobile phones, however Jayraj Patil, Naseeruddin's secretary told HT, "The entire family is very thankful to the doctors of Nair Hospital and the railway police for informing us and taking him to the hospital with care."
