Banned CPI (Maoist) rebels blew up the house of an activist of rival underground outfit Revolutionary Communist Centre (RCC) in Bihar’s Gaya district, police said on Tuesday.

About 20 heavily armed extremists descended on the house of Pankaj Mahto at Bataspur village of the naxalite-hit district last night, drove out the inhabitants, and blew up the building using dynamites, Superintendent of Police R Malar Vizzi told PTI.

Mahto was not not present in his house at the time of the incident.

A portion of the adjoining house belonging to Ramchandra Mahto was also damaged in the explosion, the SP said.

The naxalites also took away several heads of cattle, she said.
