Armed Naxalites allegedly damaged a church in a village in Maharashtra's Gadchiroli district, police said on Saturday.

A group of extremists first locked the doors of houses from outside in Yenasar village and then damaged the place of worship, breaking its chairs and tables yesterday, they said.

The ultras also shouted pro-Naxal movement slogans before fleeing, police said.

Pastor Robert Sebastain Kujur has lodged a complaint and police were investigating the incident.
