National Conference (NC) has said it was committed to development of the state. Surjit Salathia, party candidate from Vijaypur constituency, said considerable development has been made in the six year of Omar Abdullah government but much more needs to be done and for it the people should vote for the NC.

Salathia, who had won the last election in a tight contest with the BJP, inaugurating his election cell on Friday at Bari Brahamana said the major thrust of the government was on giving employment as the party believes in creating more job opportunities for the youth.

He said the youth have an important role to play in the overall development of the state and with this objective many schemes to provide employment to the youth were launched.

Salathia, who was dropped from the Cabinet, said the formation of new administrative units would go a long way in solving peoples' problems.
