Claiming that infiltration check gates are not working properly, the youth wing of NCP has declared to carry out "inspection drives" in Meghalaya to flush out illegal migrants.

"Personnel at two infiltration check gates were caught on camera as not examining documents of persons entering the state and this dereliction of duty by officials led to entry of illegal migrants," CM Nengnong, president of NCP youth wing said.

He said the wing has decided to carry out inspection drive to detect the illegal migrants.

Urging the village councils to cooperate in the drive, Nengnong said, the drive is meant to send a strong message to the government to take stern action against unabated influx in the state.
