india Updated: Sep 06, 2014 19:58 IST

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has moved two teams from Bathinda to Srinagar and Jammu for rescue and relief work in flood affected areas in the state.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has already reached Srinagar to take a tour of flood-hit areas.

The floods and landslides in the state have taken the total death toll to at least 90, with around 70 people left dead on Friday. Pulwama, Anantnag and Kulgam districts in south Kashmir have been the worst hit due to the disaster.

Incessant rains have also resulted in mud slides, flash floods and rising of water level in all rivers of Jammu and Kashmir, which has left thousands of people stranded across the state. Two NDRF teams from Bathinda were also air-lifted to Srinagar on Friday.
