Think of Mumbai streets and the first thing that comes to mind is traffic snarls.

It's hard to imagine fast cars zooming down city lanes, but car enthusiast and the head honcho of Raymond Group,Gautam Singhania says he wants to "put a smile on your face" by bringing supercars from around the world to the city.

The fifth Parx Super Car Show, which will be held this weekend at the Polo Grounds, Mahalaxmi Race Course (RWITC), will see participation from owners of supercars such as Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Aston Martins, Porsches and even race cars.

"We, the members of the Super Car Club, define the criteria for a supercar. It includes the make of the car and technical specs like horsepower, performance etc," says Singhania.

In addition to the show, the club also organises frequent driving expeditions to exotic locations. They have covered places like Sweden and Leh-Ladakh in the past, besides venturing out to drive on the track at the Buddh International Circuit, Noida.

"We're travelling to Bhutan in August. The response was so great that we filled out about 30 spots, with 17-18 on the wait list, in a matter of days," says Singhania.

While most of the cars at the show are owned by Mumbaikars, some more will also be flown in from Italy and Germany. Lamborghini and Audi will launch their latest speedsters - the Lamborghini Roadster and Audi R8 - at the show as well. Former Finnish rally champion Hannu Mikkola will be the guest of honour at the event.

While the first half of day one of the event is open only to school kids, everyone can visit during the latter half and on day two. "Last year's turnout overwhelmed us, so we decided to make it a two-day event this time," says Singhania.

On Sunday, from 10 am to 1 pm, auto enthusiasts can also look forward to catching supercars in action as they vroom down the city's streets. The rally will flag off at the Turf Club, and pass Breach Candy, the Sea Link and Kalina, before returning to the race course. Singhania will also join other car owners and drive his car around the city.
