A 70-YEAR-OLD man was bludgeoned to death by his two nephews over a petty dispute in village Khajuri Kalan in Bilkhiriya area here on October 21.

According to information, the deceased Ramcharan Vishwakarma was a farmer. The culprits Shiv Prasad (50) and Geeta Prasad
(55) reportedly had a long pending grudge against him as he used to tie his cow in their field every night.

On Saturday, the duo untied the cow and brought it to their house. When Ramcharan came to know about it, he went to their house demanding the return of the cattle.

The nephews, however, refused and an argument ensued. It soon turned heated and the culprits attacked Ramcharan with wooden sticks. They hit him repeatedly in the head and Ramcharan fell on the ground bleeding profusely.

His family members rushed him to Hamidia hospital but he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Police have registered a case of murder and managed to arrest Shiv Prasad while Geeta Prasad was reported to be at large. Further investigations are on in the matter.
