Karan Johar’s debut hit film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai will now be seen in a different light. It will be remade but this time the outcome will be quite different. It will be an animation version and will be directed by Karan’s assistant, Tarun Mansukhani.

According to sources, the film’s name will be re-titled Kuchi Kuchi Hota Hai and the lead cast will be animated dogs.

The dogs will be replacing the super-stars and will be singing and dancing in the film, which will be approximately of two hours unlike the three hours of the original.

As for the original, the film was written and directed by Karan Johar and starred the popular on-screen pair of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in their fourth of five movies together.

Rani Mukherjee featured in a supporting role, while Salman Khan has an extended cameo appearance.

The film was extremely successful both in India and overseas and won many of the major awards at 1999’s Filmfare Awards ceremony.
