SP (Traffic) Onkar Singh replied: “Earlier it was a manual traffic signalling and now it is mechanical one”. People still ignore the signals and the traffic moves without looking at the red, yellow and the green lights. There was absolute chaos at Hazratganj and Siqanderbagh leading to a traffic jam in Hazratganj and Ashok Marg.

Singh said that to make the commuters follow the new signals traffic policemen were being deployed from tomorrow onwards at busy crossings.

He said that they were also going to synchronise the timing of the lights keeping in mind the flow of the traffic movement at different crossings in the city.

From Wednesday traffic cops would ensure that the traffic moves as per the lights.
