Noida authority's CEO Sanjeev Saran said, "We have decided to construct a Metro line from Noida to Noida Extension in Greater Noida. We have already proposed an extension from City Centre (Noida Sector 32) to Sector 62 (Ghaziabad border). On this line, a new route will branch out at sector 71-72 crossing towards Noida Extension."

A DPR will be prepared for this route. "The 7-km route will cost Rs. 1,400 crore. Both the authorities will share the cost," said Saran. "In Noida Extension, builders have planned 2.5 lakh flats. Once this line is operational, residents of Noida Extension will get direct connectivity to Noida and Delhi," he added.

Greater Noida CEO Rama Raman said, "Till Noida Extension there will be two stations. We will soon identify the locations. The project is part of our plan to extend the Metro line from Noida to Greater Noida via Noida Extension."

The board also approved another plan to build a Metro line from Noida to Greater Noida on PPP model. The 30-km (approx) route will cost Rs. 8,000 crore.

"As for the 3.9-km Noida-south Delhi link, the Noida authority board has approved the DPR. It will now be sent to the state government for final approval. Once the approval comes, we will sign an MoU with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation and construction will start. The authority intends to get going on the project in two-three months. The project's budget is Rs. 845 crore. The Noida authority will spend Rs. 492 crore on it. It will provide land worth Rs. 65 crore. Work has already started on the Delhi end," said Saran.

Regarding the link towards Ghaziabad, he said, "The DPR is in the final stage. The project cost is Rs. 1,816 crore. The authority will spend Rs. 1,023 crore and the project will be executed on its land worth Rs. 119 crore. The length of this line will be 6.6 km."
