New programme to aid jobseekers

Singapore-based CareersUniverse Pvt Ltd, a company set up by promoters of CareersIndia, on Saturday launched a career management services programme to help jobseekers through the Internet.
Company CEO R Kannan told reporters in Chennai that `CareerSmart' was a set of services in a CD-cum-web enabled programme, designed to aid and assess students and first time jobseekers.
Almost 90 per cent of students passing out are not employable because they lacked soft skills or were not clear about their skills, he said.
CareerSmart would offer a gamut of services that would assist an individual in effectively planning and executing a thorough job search, taking into consideration the person's skills, aptitude and work preference, Kannan said.
The programme had features such as Skill Explore, CareerSmart Aptitude Test- CSAT, Resume builder, GD coach, Interview Manager, Career Resource Corner to help jobseekers, he said.
CareerSmart CD is priced at Rs 499 and will be available at retail stores across India.
Kannan said the company was looking to make the service multilingual with the aim of promoting the product worldwide.
