Palestinian gunmen abducted a Spanish photographer working for the Associated Press news agency in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, the AP in Gaza and Palestinian security sources said.
An AP employee in Gaza said the photographer was getting into a vehicle when four gunmen seized him.
"An armed group kidnapped the AP photographer outside his residence in Gaza City. This photographer is a Spanish national," said the employee, declining to be identified.
AP's office in Jerusalem declined to comment.
Palestinian security sources confirmed the kidnapping. "We are making searches in the area," a security source said.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility.
Earlier this month, unknown gunmen kidnapped a US student volunteer in the West Bank but released him within hours.
Two journalists working for the US Fox News channel were abducted in the Gaza Strip in August.
They were held by militants for two weeks before being freed.
