NATIONAL HUMAN Rights Commission would organise a two-day national seminar in Indore under the aegis of District Administration and Indore Press Club on December 16 and 17.
Divisional Commissioner Ashok Das said this in a meeting to finalize the preparations for the seminar on Saturday. Das informed that topic of this seminar would be ‘Role of media and NGOs in protection of Human Rights’.
National Human Rights Commission Chairman Justice Dr Shivraj V Patil would inaugurate the seminar. Justice R C Lahoti would preside over the inaugural session.
A photo and poster exhibition on Human Rights would be put up at the venue. Das said that administration plans to seek help from CEPRD, Law students and NGOs for organising the seminar successfully. Senior journalists, legal experts and representatives of NGOs would participate in the seminar.
Discussions on human rights would be telecasted on Doordarshan and Akashwani before the seminar. Human Rights Commission Additional Director S K Shukla, technical advisor V K Sinha, Press Club president Vikas Mishra, vice president Anna Durai and Joint Director (Public Relations) Dr Bhupendra Gautam were present in the meeting.
