The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday filed a charge sheet against Mohammad Naveed, Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorist from Pakistan, and five other accused who were involved in an attack on a border security force (BSF) convoy killing two paramilitary personnel and injuring nearly a dozen others on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Udhampur district on August 5, 2015.

The NIA has filed a 1,600-page charge sheet in a special NIA designated court in Jammu, prior to ending of the 180-day judicial custody of Naveed and the five other accused — Showkat Ahmad Bhat, Khushrid Ahmad Bhat, Sabzar Ahmad Bhat, Fayaz Ahmad Itoo and Khurshid Ahmad Itoo — on January 29.

Statements of 199 witnesses, including 20 protected witnesses, have been recorded in the charge sheet.

All the accused have been lodged under high-security at the Kot Bhalwal jail in the state. The other accused — Ashiq Hussain and Fayaz Ahmad — have not been arrested till now.

The court has, meanwhile, fixed the next date of the hearing on February 12.
