A case lodged by Nisha Sharma, who called off her marriage at the eleventh hour in 2003, accusing her prospective spouse's family of demanding dowry, has reached its final stage. HT reports.

The groom, Munish Dalal, and his mother, Vidya, were arrested and released on bail after a few months. On Monday, Munish and Vidya reached the court of CJM Vipin Sharma for final arguments. December 5 is the next date of hearing and the judgement is expected in two months.

Munish's family said Nisha had called off the marriage because she wanted to marry her lover, Navneet Rai. Later, Nisha lodged a case of forgery against Rai, who claimed to have married another girl. In November 2003, Nisha married a resident of Modi Nagar.
