Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Kumar Vishwas on Wednesday said that the media deliberately generated his reported differences with Arvind Kejriwal and distorted his poetry to defame the party. But he admitted that there was a problem in ticket distribution which is being probed by the party.
“When a leading TV channel was airing the news of my groupism in the party, I was talking to Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia. Some journalists are under pressure from the owners of their channels and are trying to defame the party,” Vishwas told reporters in Amethi.
He said that the couplet — ‘Chadhti nadi mein naale girenge, to aasthawaan snan se bhi darenge’ — he had tweeted was unnecessarily being interpreted by the media as his angst over ticket distribution in AAP.
He also alleged corporate groups were ganging up against AAP owing to Kejriwal’s challenge to BJP ‘star’ Narendra Modi.
On Tuesday, AAP leader Shazia Ilmi said she would not contest from Rae Bareilly.
