Army Chief Gen Deepak Kapoor on Wednesday said there was no increase in Chinese incursions this year and asked the media to be "responsible" in reporting the "sensitive" issue.

"There have not been more incursions or transgressions as compared to last year. They are at the same level. So, there is no cause of worry or concern," he said when asked about the situation on Indo-China border.

"The media have to be not only responsive, but also responsible. I would suggest that media keep a check on trying to get into some kind of over-drive on this issue," Gen Kapoor told media after reviewing the Mounted Parade of 61st Cavalry at polo ground in Jaipur.

"Indo-China border is a sensitive issue. But, let me assure you that we keep a proper watch and vigil on the border."

"Whenever there is transgression, we have border meetings by which we resolve the issue. If it is not resolved at that level, then we resolve it at diplomatic level. The transgressions are not more than last year's," the Chief of Army Staff said.
