The Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF), which had won 31 seats out of 32 in the last assembly elections did one better this time – it picked up all 32. In stark contrast to its successes in the rest of the county, in Sikkim, the Congress drew a blank.

This is the fourth straight victory of the SDF which has ruled the state since 1994. Chief minister Pawan Chamling contesting two assembly seats, won both. Former CM and opposition Congress leader Nar Bahadur Bhandari, also fighting two seats, lost both.
