RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat said on Thursday said his organization wouldn’t oppose if the noted painter M F Husain, who is living in exile in the middle-east since 2006, wants to come back to his country.

“If he would have apologized for hurting the sentiments of a section of the people we have no problem. We will neither oppose nor welcome his return,” he said at a meet the press programme here.

There are reports that the 95-year-old painter has been granted nationality by Qatar, a middle-east country. After portraying Hindu goddess Saraswati in nude he had fled the country fearing physical threats. Though he had offered apology it failed to convince those who started a campaign against him.

In one of the interviews recently he expressed his desire to return and die in the country of his origin.
