'No proposal of Ganguly farewell match'

Shah said there was no truth in the talk that Board or coach Chappell had planned any farewell match for Sourav.

Indian Cricket Board Secretary Niranjan Shah on Tuesday denied media reports that there was a proposal for a farewell match for former captain Sourav Ganguly to give him a chance to call it quits in a graceful manner.

Shah said there was no truth in the talk that the Board or Team India coach Greg Chappell had planned any farewell match for Ganguly.

"It's not true at all. There is no such plan. And it is impossible that Greg would extend such an offer to Ganguly," he said over phone from Rajkot.

About Ganguly's future in international cricket, Shah said the doors were not closed for the former skipper and his selection to the national team depended on the selectors.

"He is still a contracted player with the BCCI. And it is up to the selection committee to decide," he said.
