The authorities have failed to curb illegal parking in the city. Despite a complaint filed with Sector 29 police station on Friday, no action has been taken against a parking contractor operating near Galleria Market in DLF City.

The complaint was filed after Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) administrator Praveen Kumar made a surprise inspection on Friday.

The Huda administrator subsequently ordered sub-divisional engineer SK Rana to re-inspect the area.

Rana visited the parking site and summoned the concerned contractor. “The contractor did not turn up and his attendants failed to produce any relevant documents," said Rana. He later informed the police.

Meanwhile, the police have denied receiving any complaint about illegal parking in the area. “I am not aware about any such complaint,” said Jagdish Parshad, SHO, Sector 29 police station.

On Thursday, Huda lodged an FIR against a parking contractor for subletting parking space to vendors at the Sadar police station.

According to the complaint, the contractor had rented out the space allotted for parking at Sector 38, near Medanta-The Medicity. The police had arrested one person.
