Finally, the BCCI is being tough daddy to its star kids — it has snubbed cricketer Yuvraj Singh from co-starring in actor-friend Akshay Kumar’s forthcoming film
An upset Yuvi says, “If the main focus is on the game, I don’t think anybody should have a problem with you doing anything. But, the BCCI is concerned about our fitness.” That doesn’t stop him from sighing, though: “I worked with Akshay in an ad film earlier. It was lovely. He speaks Punjabi, too, so we get along really well.”
Yuvi, however, had turned down similar offers in the past of his own accord: "I refused to do

Ever since he was accused of being unfit, Yuvi’s been trying to battle weight issues. “I’m a foodie with a serious sweet tooth, but I make sure I hit the gym and lose extra kilos to be in shape before every tournament,” says Yuvi, in the Capital yesterday to launch an international health product at the Godrej Nature’s Basket store.
The cricketer was reportedly dropped from the Asia Cup squad due to lack of discipline and fitness. He was seen dancing with a pop star on the eve of the selection meeting and that miffed the board, according to dailies. But he chooses to keep his lips pursed on the matter. Ditto with his stand on the news of his link up with video jockey Anusha Dandekar. “No comments,” he signs off.
