india Updated: Jul 16, 2011 15:15 IST

Maintaining that multi-tier security setup in place along India-Pakistan border, the army on Saturday said that there has been no successful infiltration attempt along Line of Control (LOC) since January this year.

"There is no successful attempt of infiltration (along LoC) on our side. None of infiltration has been successful since January this year," General Officer Commanding (GOC), 16 Corps, Lt Gen JP Nehra told reporters at the launch of a plantation drive launch in Nagrota.

There were few attempts which were foiled. They (militants) will not be successful, he said.

Nehra was replying to media on infiltrations, security situation, militants and lull on the India-Pakistan borders in South of Pir Panchal.

If there is no infiltration, it does not mean that they are not attempting infiltrations. They are making attempts, he said, adding that, they are disturbed for not being successful in engineering infiltrations.

"Our people are alert. They will try to take benefit of bad weather conditions, but we will foil their attempts," Nehra added.
