No time for homework? Outsource it to Aunt Kaur

Highlight Story

WE LIVE in a world where everything is at our beck and call. You dial 100 for the police, 2563236 for a pizza — and now holiday homework is just a phone call away.

School students in the know say that for Rs 350 you can get your holiday-homework projects delivered right at the doorstep and that too in just three hours.

The price includes a guarantee of a minimum grade of B+ if not a straight A.
Amarjeet Kaur, a Gurgaon entrepreneur, is cashing in on the average student's desire to escape homework. Her part-time business has been flooded with customers, she says.

Most projects are for students from Class VI to X. The World Cup provided an unexpected boom: many 'clients' simply didn't have the time to complete summer projects.

Doesn't it encourage students to cheat? Kaur says this is her contribution to minimising student stress. But who actually does the homework? That responsibility falls on Kaur's 31-year-old-son Ravinder — who spends hours surfing the Net to source information for projects dreamt up by teachers.

And the cherry on the icing? Ravinder even provides a detailed brief on how the project was done. So, students who are called upon to explain their methodology have it all down pat.

(Dhillon, a Class X student of The Doon School, will return to school in July-end. He claims to have no plans to outsource his summer assignments)
