We’ve heard of script narrations happening in various places. From coffee shops to five star lobbys. But a bathroom is still extreme. Seems that’s the newest fad in the glamour industry, especially after actor Aamir Khan admitted to discussing 3 Idiots with director Rajkumar Hirani in the washroom of an old building in South Mumbai while shooting for his wife, Kiran Rao’s Dhobi Ghat.
The same goes for a discussion between actor Shahid Kapoor and the director Ken Ghosh. A source close to Kapoor tells us that the actor was shooting in Canada for Kismat Konnection when Ghosh flew there for the narration of their upcoming movie, Chance Pe Dance. But Ghosh was in for a surprising dilemma. “Shahid had checked into a non-smoking room and there was no way Ken could smoke without setting the smoke alarms on,” says our source, adding that the director wanted to smoke while narrating the script. Our source adds, “Ken realised that there were no smoke detectors in the bathroom. Once inside, Ghosh got into the bathtub to light up his cigarette before he could start telling his story.”
With Ghosh comfortably in the tub, Kapoor had no option but to sit facing him on the pot. “But after a while, Shahid felt uncomfortable and shifted to the washbasin slab and sat there till Ken had finished the narration,” reveals our source.
On being contacted, Ghosh confirmed the incident. “Yes, it is true. I did sit in the bathtub while narrating the story to Shahid, but let me clarify that ours was a very professional meeting and nothing more should be read into it. And I must tell you that there is absolutely no toilet humour in this film,” he laughed.
