THE EXECUTIVE body of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS) of Jai Prakash (JP) Hospital met here today and sanctioned about Rs 3.5 crore for various developmental and infrastructure improvement works.
The committee also decided to expedite the process of setting up a medical college in the hospital. Technical specifications and required clearances would be sought from New Delhi at the earliest so that the medical college could start functioning as soon as possible.
The committee decided to purchase various medical equipments for the hospital at a cost of Rs 40 lakh. Half of the money would be provided by the RKS while half would be collected through public participation. Besides, a sum of Rs 1.70 crore has been sanctioned for the ongoing construction of the new OPD building, JP hospital Superintendent Dr D K Verma said.
The meeting approved a sum of Rs 10 lakh for installing gate at main entrance, Rs 7.80 lakh for road development and parking, Rs 15 lakh for cleaning and construction of drains, Rs 3.50 lakh for repairing the boundary wall, Rs 50,000 for proper water supply facilities, Rs 7.90 lakh for repair of all sewer lines inside the hospital, and Rs 2.50 lakh for electricity repairs and installing new lines.
Divisional Commissioner K K Singh, Collector S K Mishra, BMC Commissioner Manish Singh, Bhopal Mayor Sunil Sood, MLA Umashankar Gupta, CMHO Dr B S Ohri, JP Superintendent Dr D K Verma, officials from PWD, CPA and other concerned departments were present in the meeting.
