At least six people were injured and 40 thatched huts were gutted in a fire triggered by a cooking gas cylinder explosion in Noida this evening.
Firefighters battled for two hours to douse the leaping flames, police said adding the incident happened in Nithari area in sector 31.
Initial reports said three children were believed to have perished in the fire, but police said they had searched the entire area and no body had been found.
They said a cooking gas cylinder explosion set off the fire which soon engulfed the hutments.
Six people received burn injuries and 40 huts were gutted, they said adding the exact damage caused by the blaze was yet to be ascertained.
