A "misunderstanding" between the CISF personnel and the airport terminal manager created flutter at the domestic airport in Mumbai on Thursday morning after the MIAL official was allegedly manhandled by the security guard.

Normalcy restored at the airport after a brief period of chaos when the issue was sorted out between the duo.

Both CISF and Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) authorities told PTI that the issues between the two parties was "amicably resolved" and the situation in the airport is normal now.

The incident happened at around 0800 hours in Terminal IA when MIAL's airport terminal manager was allegedly roughed up by some CISF personnel.

However, CISF Senior Commander, Sanjay Prakash, denied that any of his personnel manhandled the airport terminal manager.

There was some "misunderstanding" but the issue has been resolved, he said.

A MIAL spokesperson said that the airport was now functioning normally and that MIAL was not taking up the issue with higher authorities.
