Protesting against an unsatisfactory answer given to his query, a Congress MLA, today, refused to sit during the entire question hour session in the state Assembly.
Congress MLA from Manavadar Jawahar Chavda had raised a question with regard to funds allocated for Swarnim Sorath Development Programme.
Finance Minister Vajubhai Vala replied to Chavda's answer, but the later said that he was not satisfied with the answer and would remain standing till the minister gave a satisfactory answer.
Chavda was asked by the speaker Ashok Bhatt to sit down as the minister had given answer to his question, but Chavda remained adamant and stood during the entire question hour session.
After the session was over, Chief Whip of the BJP Pradeepsinh Jadeja raised objection to the behaviour of Chavda calling it unparliamentary and against the rules of the house.
He also requested the speaker for action against Chavda. The Speaker after referring to the rule books termed Chavda's behaviour as a kind of 'demonstration' which as per Assembly guidelines was not allowed in the house.
However, the speaker let off Chavda after he apologised to the House.
