Punjab and Haryana High Court on Monday issued notice to CBI on the bail plea of Dera Sacha Sauda head Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in connection with the chargesheets filed by the agency against him in connection with two cases of murder and alleged rape of a disciple.
Issuing the notice, Justice Surya Kant also directed the Chief Investigating officer to be present in the court on August 22 with the entire record pertaining to the murder of Sirsa-based journalist Ram Chander Chatterpatti and Dera manager Ranjit Singh.
In the rape case, Justice LN Mittal issued notice to the CBI for August 28.
The CBI had filed the chargesheets in the CBI special court at Ambala last month against the chief of Sirsa-based Dera and ten others in connection with the two murders and alleged rape of a disciple about five years back.
The Ambala court has issued notice for August 31 to the Dera chief after CBI filed the chargesheet.
