Here's some good news for students – now, a "talking pillow" which would help you in revision of lessons during examination, even in sleep.

According to its designers, the pillow allows the students to hear pre-recorded lectures or class notes as they sleep, and they will remember at least some of the information when they wake, the

Daily Mail

reported.

In fact, the 20 pounds 'Sound Asleep' pillow has a speaker buried in its fibres which can be linked to an MP3 or CD player, say its designers.

It has already been sold to the partners of snorers, who play music to help drown out the racket, and tinnitus sufferers, who may find it easier to sleep with background noise. But it is increasingly being used by students swotting for exams.

In fact, the technology appears to be supported by a US study which found that revision reminders received during sleep can be recalled.

Teachers voiced caution, however.

Dame Marcia Twelftree, an education consultant and retired head of Charters School in Berkshire, was quoted as saying, "I'm always interested in new ideas but I certainly would not want to see it in any way replace some of the more traditional forms of learning."
