A POLICE team from Shimla arrived in the city today in connection with the probe into the Himachal Pradesh (HP) pre-medical entrance test paper leakage case. A team of Chandigarh police is already camping here regarding investigations into the Punjab medical entrance test paper leak.
The paper of the entrance test in HP held on May 28 was also leaked and the Shimla police are here to probe the role of the accused involved in Punjab PMT paper leak.
On the other hand, Adarsh Thakur, the proprietor of the coaching institute held yesterday, was produced in a Chandigarh court on Thursday. The police team went to Sitapur today to trace the whereabouts of Dr Sandip Chaudhary who is also wanted in the leakage case. Dr Chaudhury is an intern in Sitapur Hospital. His associates Dr Avnish and Dr Pankaj have already been arrested.
Another police team from Chandigarh left for Bihar to collect information about wanted accused Ram Bahadur and Jagjit, the employees of the Dental University and printing press, respectively.
The Shimla police today visited the printing press and met their Chandigarh counterparts to collect the details about the accused and the suspects. The cops had tip-off that the accused involved in Punjab PMT leakage had also played role in leakage of HP examination papers.
Significantly, police teams from Chandigarh and Shimla were also collecting details about the role of a KGMU assistant professor who had been jailed earlier for involvement in paper leakage of various medical exams. The cops suspect that this KGMU doctor was the mastermind who used the medical students and the medicos as helping hands.
The police teams were keeping a close watch on this KGMU assistant professor and the moment they got proof of his involvement, they would pick him up.
