To showcase the rich Gujarati culture and heritage to the second generation, NRIs from the community is all set to organise an event in USA.

The three-day 'Gujarati Chaalo Gujarat' event organised by an association of Gujarati NRIs will start on August 29 in New Jersey.

"The Association of Indian Americans in North America (AIANA) is holding this meet to showcase the pride of Gujarat to the second generation," AIANA Director Sunil Nayak said.

Noted Gujarati writer and columnist Vinod Bhatt and singer Aishwariya Majumdar of 'Voice of India' fame will also participate in the event.

"I appreciate the efforts of Gujaratis settled in USA to take up such a good cause," Bhatt said.

"I am delighted and honoured over getting the invitation to attend this meet where I am going to perform," Majumdar said.

The event will include various seminars and exhibitions helping youngsters to reconnect with their roots, Nayak said adding, a property show to be held there would help showcase Gujarat as an investment destination to NRIs.

Famed Indian-origin astronaut Sunita Williams, Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani and noted director Sanjay Leela Bhansali have been invited to the function. However, they are yet to confirm their participation.
