NSA invoked against two kidnappers

Nearly three months after a 14-year-old boy was kidnapped and murdered, the district administration has invoked the stringent National Security Act against the two arrested accused in the case.

Nearly three months after a 14-year-old boy was kidnapped and murdered, the district administration has invoked the stringent National Security Act against the two arrested accused in the case.

Karan Maheshwari, who went missing on July 9 from his Kidwai Nagar residence here, was found dead in neighbouring Unnao district on July 12.

Police has asked the district administration to invoke NSA against the accused, arrested for their alleged involvement in kidnapping and murdering Karan, Superintendent of Police O P Singh said.

As the permission has been granted, the Act has been invoked against the duo, he said.

Two cousin brothers Jaikishan Awasthi and Ankit Awasthi were arrested for their alleged involvement in the case on July 17 from the Rail Bazaar area of the city while, another accomplice Abhishek Awasthi is still absconding.
