If Dasna jail officials are to be believed, Dr Nupur Talwar, the main accused in the murder of her daughter Aarushi, wants to adopt the child of one of her fellow women inmates.

According to officials, Nupur has been enquiring about the procedure to adopt a child.

Nupur and her husband Rajesh are the main accused in the murders of Aarushi and their domestic help Hemraj. She has been lodged in Dasna jail since April 30.

Officials say Nupur has become quite friendly with other women inmates and their children. She even takes care of their studies and frequently plays with them.

"During her interactions with other inmates and also with us, she has sought details about adoption procedures. She said if a child could be adopted, she could take up the responsibility of his/her upbringing," Dasna jail superintendent Viresh Raj Sharma said.

"We cannot allow any adoption inside the jail premises. Anyone interested in adoption can do so once they are out of jail," Sharma said.

Currently, there are 22 children inside Dasna jail along with their mothers. According to jail officials, one of the woman inmates has five children and Nupur has offered to adopt one of her daughters.

Previously, Nupur had proposed to write a book from inside the jail about the sensational murder case. She said she wanted to bring out the facts behind the case.
