The period for submitting applications for admission in nursery schools, as per the recommendations of the Ganguly Committee, ended on Wednesday.
A number of leading schools that had started the admission process earlier this month, wrapped it up while others were yet to begin. Some of the schools said they were waiting for the January 17 hearing in the High Court while others said wanted the confusion to end first.
The process for submitting applications was to end on December 20 and schools were supposed to release the final lists by January 31. But several schools were yet to start the process.
Schools like Shriram and Vasant Valley were approaching the apex court, while the Sardar Patel Vidyalaya was yet to take a decision on when to start the admission process.
“We were waiting for a number of decisions. The age factor was one of them. We have not yet decided on a date,” said Kusum Warikoo, principal, Sardar Patel Vidyalaya.
