Renowned peace researcher and activist Dr Johan Galtung Thursday said that US President Barak Obama was a "weak and naive" person and he did not expect much from him.
"Obama is weak and naive person...I do not expect much from him," Galtung, director of an international peace and development network Transcend, said while talking to reporters.
The scholar from Norway has acted as an expert mediator in diverse conflict situations and is widely known for his work on structural violence. He is here to conduct a two-day workshop on 'The current global order; conflict and resolutions', beginning Friday.
Asked if a peaceful solution to terrorism existed, he said "yes."
"Terrorism is caused due to conflicts and the most stupid thing to do is to fight terrorism. For a peaceful solution is to find the cause of conflict and trying to resolve it (with dialogue)," Galtung said.
He said terrorism has other side of coin called state terrorism.
"State terrorism has the plane which drops the bomb, while the terrorism has bomb without the plane. What happened during 9/11 was that the plane was the bomb," he said.
Galtung also wished that China and India could come closer and join hands.
