US President Barack Obama is set to host a private mocktail party for a select few, on January 26 evening.

To be held at ITC Maurya’s European restaurant Westview, the reception is likely to have a very small, closely guarded guest list. “Only 30-35 guests have been invited, though the kitchen has been told that the number could stretch up to 50. No liquor will be served on account of Republic Day being a dry day.

The hotel will serve exotic mocktails, with the underlying theme of ‘Made in India’, in consonance with PM Narendra Modi’s ambitious project,” said a source, requesting anonymity.

The restaurant, known for its live grill, is set to serve red meat delicacies, as Obama is famously a fan of grilled steak. The guests could enjoy a spectacular view of the Delhi ridge from Westview’s terrace that boasts of an organic kitchen garden.

The names of the party invitees have not yet been revealed, as the US embassy is still finalising the coveted guest list.
