OBCs better - why ask for quotas?

Highlight Story

If OBCs are better then where is the question of making reservations for them in jobs or in institutes of higher studies or in unaided institutes or in private jobs? In fact, OBCs are running the government. Most of the ministries belong to OBC category including Lalu Prasad Yadav. Most of the MPs are also OBCs. This is but natural because they form a large chunk of the population. They have also ruled the country, e.g. Yadavs, Kurmis, Ramgarhias, Ahluwalias, etc.

The only conclusion that we can safely derive from the report is that making reservations for the OBCs is merely vote bank politics because of their large numbers in most of the parliamentary as well as assembly constituencies.

And even among the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes most of the government jobs are cornered by well-to-do castes and tribes like Paswan, Meena, Jullaha, etc.

In my opinion, there should be no reservations as it would perpetuate the caste system and weaken the country. It would also lead to demands from Muslim Dalits and Christian Dalits for reservations and it may not be possible to desist their demands for long time.
