Of Rakhi and Pamela Anderson

After reading what happened to Rakhi Sawant I was furious. How dare this Mika think he can force himself on her and think he can get away with it just by alleging that she is of ?loose? character? What a woman does with her professional life does not have the slightest influence on what kind of person she is personally. Do you think anyone would have the guts to even try and touch Pamela Anderson who is a zillion times more sexplicit than Rakhi?

After reading what happened to Rakhi Sawant I was furious. How dare this Mika think he can force himself on her and think he can get away with it just by alleging that she is of “loose” character? What a woman does with her professional life does not have the slightest influence on what kind of person she is personally. Do you think anyone would have the guts to even try and touch Pamela Anderson who is a zillion times more sexplicit than Rakhi? You think the law or the people themselves of that society would permit her porn star status to be a justification for sexual harassment? Any guy who even tried anything of the sort this Mika guy (whoever he is) tried would have his ass hauled to jail.

Everyone has a right to make a living to the best of their ability without being judged. Pamela Anderson thought posing for Playboy would get her fame and recognition so she did it and today she is a household name. Does that mean anybody is allowed to go up and force themselves on her? Mika would probably say YES if she’s posed naked for the whole world to see she’s an “unscrupulous character” and according to his hypothesis “such girls” are asking for it. What exactly does he mean by “it was just a 'normal' kiss and she has made a controversy of it” (<i>Hindustan Times</i>, 12/6)?

Can you believe this guy! Does he think he can go around frenching anyone he likes?

Indian men need to leave their provincial, chauvinistic ideas at home and get with the programme; society is becoming less and less tolerant of this sort of behaviour and women are no longer too scared to say anything. Thank God Rakhi made a big noise and didn’t just let it go.

But what is really sad is that Indian women, are often the first ones to doubt another woman’s story; why don’t they give the woman the benefit of the doubt! (women... please go watch Sex and the City and learn something about female bonding). I don’t know what it is but seriously actresses should support each other because Dia Mirza, etc are not exactly sati savitrees. I would say they are as erotic as Rakhi and tomorrow it could easily be one of them being violated, so instead of making silly statements like “your safety is in your own hands” which is exactly the point here, that it is NOT in your hands, they should stand up and fight for her so no guy would have the guts to do that to them.
