Old time-table boards confusing passengers

india Updated: Dec 06, 2006 00:14 IST

TIMINGS OF a large number of trains have been changed with the implementation of the new railway time-table from December 1, but the railway authorities have failed to display the new time-table. The same old time-table can be seen displayed at the Allahabad Junction.

Due to  this, the passengers have to run from pillar to post in order to get the correct information about arrival and departure of trains.

The old time-table displayed at the computerised reservation hall and general ticket booking window on the City as well as Civil Lines side of the station, are misguiding the passengers, who have to face a lot of inconvenience.

"I had to miss my train because of the old railway time-table is still displayed at the station," said a harried passenger Shivram, who had to board Purwa Express.
The authorities concerned should take immediate steps in updating the time-table and placing it at the station, he added.

About six months back when the time-table had changed, then too the authorities took a long time to place the updated time-table.

It seems that again the railways are going to work with the same style, said another troubled passenger Ram Mohan.

When contacted, chief public relation officer BP Pandey said: "Updated time-table for Allahabad Junction and Kanpur station are being prepared and the correct time-table will be placed within a few days".
