Addressing his constituency, National Conference (NC) provincial president (Jammu region) and member of legislative council, Devender Rana said chief minister Omar Abdullah had a dream for the state and party workers had to make efforts to realise it.

Rana, who was made party candidate from the Nagrota constituency and is contesting elections for the first time, said he had been among the people of his constituency for the past seven years and was well aware of its strengths and grey areas.

"I believe in participatory development and have initiated many projects in the constituency which can bring massive change in the coming years," said the NC leader.

The constituency was earlier represented by BJP member of parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma.

Rana added the said creation of new administrative units was imperative for giving a fillip to various projects and mitigating the problems of the people.

"Sloganeering has lost meaning. I believe in action rather than words and as a foot soldier of this constituency, I will make every effort to make it a developmental model," he said.
