The protestor shouted slogans and made it known that his action was against the chief minister's speech in the legislative assembly Oct 6 in which he stated that the state had "acceded to India and not merged with it".

Police dragged the man out from the rally, beating him ruthlessly.

The identity of the protestor was yet to be ascertained.

Omar, however, went ahead with his speech. He described the protestor's action as "frustration" of some. He maintained that the majority of the people had understood him and his intentions in the right perspective.
