National Conference candidate from Nagrota constituency Devender Rana said that the Omar Abdullah-led government succeeded in steering the state to stability by heralding peace and giving a new dimension to development.

"The people have realised that there can't be any other path than taking substantive measures for public welfare," said Rana. He said emotional sloganeering is not in the interest the state.

Rana, who is also the provincial president, said the people will appreciate their responsibilities and vote for a strong government to carry forward the agenda set in motion six years ago.

He said the vision of the chief minister has instilled a sense of confidence among the people about better tomorrow.

He said like rest of the state, the Nagrota constituency has also benefitted in terms of development and progress.

Rana said the people should give decisive mandate to the NC in 2014 elections, as stable and strong government is pre-requisite to address political, economic and developmental issues of Jammu and
Kashmir. He said it is being hoped that people will strengthen the hands of the chief minister.
