One dead, 6 injured in road accidents

One person died while six others were injured in separate road accidents across the Kashmir valley on Monday, police said.

One person died while six others were injured in separate road accidents across the Kashmir valley on Monday, police said.

An unknown tractor hit a pedestrian, Ram Dass, at Qazigund resulting in his death on the spot. "The body is in the Qazigund Emergency Hospital for legal formalities. A case has been registered in this regard," police said.

In another incident, an Alto car being driven by Arshid Ahmad Reshi, a resident of Bontooru, turned turtle at Khakdar Poshnari in the jurisdiction of Achabal police station, Anantnag, resulting in injuries to four persons travelling in the car. " All the injured were shifted to SMHS Srinagar and SKIMS Srinagar for further treatment" said police.

An Innova hit and injured a pedestrian Khati, a resident of Preng in south Kashmir. The injured was shifted to sub district hospital, Kangan, for treatment. Police have registered a case in this regard.

Further, an unknown motor cyclist skidded off the road near Fruit Mandi, in the jurisdiction of Parimpora police station, resulting in injuries. He was shifted to JVC Hospital for treatment and a case has been registered in this regard.
