One held for molestation attempt on Faridabad girl

The Faridabad Police have arrested one person for allegedly having tried to molest a school girl. Efforts are on to nab the other three accused in the case.

Police said the parents of a Class 11 student Malaika (name changed) had lodged a complaint with that some youngsters had forced Malaika into their car when she was on her way to school on September 14. According to the complaint, the main accused who was driving, stopped the car near Jawahar colony and proposed her for marriage.

It was only after the girl, fearing for her life, accepted the proposal that the accused let her go. Upon returning home, she narrated the incident to her parents.

“We registered a case under different sections of IPC against five persons including one named youth as soon as the parents lodged their complaint on September 16,” said investigating officer Mastan Hooda.

Quoting the victim’s statement Hooda said that some of the accused who were sitting on the backseat made her sit on their feet.

“We launched a massive hunt and arrested the driver of the car Pradeep Kumar of Nangla area in Faridabad,” police said, adding, “We are looking for the other three persons.”

The accused Pradeep has been sent to Nimka jail.

“We are investigating the case. One person has been arrested,” confirmed SHO Saran Om Prakash.
