One jawan killed, two injured in firing across border

Days before BJP’s Narendra Modi will assume office as India’s next Prime Minister, an Army jawan was killed and two others were injured in firing by terrorists and Pakistan troops along the Line of Control (LoC) in Akhnoor sector on Sunday.

According to army sources, Pakistan had laid mines along the border fence inside the Indian territory.

One of the jawaans Vinod Kumar stepped on the mine and was critically injured.

On hearing the blast, his colleagues in the patrolling party, rushed towards him.

They were fired at from across the border. Sepoy Bhikale Uttam Balu and lance naik Amul Kumar were critically injured. Balu latter succumbed to his injuries.

“Pakistan had been till now dealing with a weak Indian government. But now they are upset and nervous with Modi-led BJP coming to power. It’s a reaction of their nervousness,” said senior BJP leader Hari Om.
