One killed, 35 injured in J&K grenade blast

Unknown hitmen lobbed a hand grenade towards a police party at Drangbal bus stand in the town at 6 pm, reports Rashid Ahmad.

A grenade blast killed one person and injured 35 others, three of them policemen — at Pampora, 16 km south of capital Srinagar on Saturday.

Sources said that unknown hitmen lobbed a hand grenade towards a police party at Drangbal bus stand in the town at 6 pm. They said that a large number of civilians were present there when the grenade was lobbed. The splinters hit three policemen and 32 civilians. Some of them sustained critical injuries. Sources said that one of the injured persons, a lady, died on the way to hospital.

The condition of several other injured persons was stated to be critical.
